Background

Do you operate a small to medium sized business in the City of Cockburn? If so, we would like to hear your thoughts on becoming more sustainable and any barriers you face, by completing the survey below.

Sustainability can be defined as "Pursuing governance excellence to meet the needs of current and future generations through an integration of environmental protection, social advancement and economic prosperity." (City of Cockburn, 2013)

Examples of sustainability include reducing waste, using renewable energy, and reducing energy, water and resource use.

This study will focus on determining the main areas of interest to businesses. Subsequent follow-up interviews will focus on sustainability initiatives implemented or considered by businesses as well as motivations and barriers.

The City is considering developing a Building Better Business program. The data collected will help the City shape this program and determine the best ways to support our local businesses to minimise costs while reducing environmental impacts.
