A Disability Access and Inclusion Plan helps public authorities plan and implement improvements to access and inclusion across seven outcome areas. These include services and events, buildings and facilities, information, quality of service, complaints, consultation processes and employment.

The City's Disability Access & Inclusion Plan ensures that all community members have equitable access to services and facilities.

The previous Disability Access & Inclusion Plan covers the period from 2017 to 2022. The plan has seven key outcome areas. They are:

• All people with disability have the same opportunities as other people to access the services of, and events organised by, the City of Cockburn.
• People with disability have the same opportunities as other people to access the buildings and other facilities of the City of Cockburn.
• People with disability receive information from the City of Cockburn in a format that will enable them to access the information as readily as other people are able to access it.
• People with disability receive the same level and quality of service from the staff of the City of Cockburn as other people receive from the City of Cockburn.
• People with disability have the same opportunities as other people to make complaints to the City of Cockburn.
• People with disability have the same opportunities as other people to participate in any public consultation by the City of Cockburn.
• People with a disability have the same opportunities as other people to obtain and maintain employment with the City of Cockburn.
