Consultation has concluded

Background

At its November 2017 meeting, Council resolved to seek community input on the proposed names for reserves at 11 Karbuni Parade and 22 Cottage Parade, Spearwood:

  • “Kitj Park” for 11 Karbuni Parade
  • “Kooboolong Park” for 22 Cottage Parade

The City wrote to landowners within 200 metres of each park to seek their feedback.

The meaning of “Kitj” (pronounced “kitch”) is a spear, a traditional hunting instrument used by Nyungar people.

The meaning of “Kooboolong” (pronounced “koo-boo-long”) is a frog to reflect the nearby lake.
