Safer Coolbellup - Help Shape Our CCTV Plan

Our 2021 Community Scorecard results found that safety, security, crime prevention and CCTV are top priorities for Cockburn residents. As a result we are improving CCTV coverage throughout Cockburn. We want to hear your thoughts on community safety in Coolbellup to help us plan for CCTV needs in this area.

How we use CCTV

The City uses closed-circuit television (CCTV) throughout Cockburn to aid in the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour simply by increased monitoring and recording activity. Footage is securely stored and can only be released to Police upon formal request. CCTV supports the City in security management and community safety by:

• Detecting that something is occurring in a particular field of interest
• Recognising exactly what is happening
• Identifying who (if possible) is involved in the activity.

In Coolbellup, CCTV is currently installed at the Coolbellup Hub/Len Packham Clubrooms.
