The City of Cockburn is advertising proposed Scheme Amendment No.179 to Town Planning Scheme No. 3 and invites submissions from the community.
About the Amendment
The City is proposing amendments to ‘Additional Use 1’ to include the following additional land uses to the current ‘Additional Use No. 1’ (‘Resource’ zone), which applies to the subject land:
The proposed amendment also includes a new condition and objective (1) to guide all future development:
- All development shall comply with the following objective: To accommodate light industrial and a limited range of commercial activities which require good vehicular access and/or large sites; which do not negatively impact existing or planned Activity Centres; and which are compatible with the Jandakot Groundwater mound and environmental values of the area.

What will happen next?
After the advertising period, the City’s Technical Officers will review the submissions received and make a recommendation for Council to consider, after which the amendment will be sent to the Western Australian Planning Commission for consideration and determination by the Minister for Planning.
