Background
The City of Cockburn is proposing an amendment to Local Planning Policy 4.6 (LPP 4.6) – Cockburn Coast Guidelines for Robb Jetty & Emplacement Precincts.
About the Amendment
At the 2 September 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting (Item 15.2.1), Council determined to advertise the proposed amendment to LPP 4.6. The amendment proposes the following changes:
- Expansion of the existing Mixed Residential typology into Lot 9002 Garston Way, North Coogee
- Reduction of the existing High Density Residential typology on its current location upon Lot 9002 Garston Way, North Coogee
- Clarify setbacks to Public Open Space as shown on the Structure Plan map and supplementary Public Open Space provided within the Mixed Residential typology areas
- Amend Figure 16 – Building Height Plan to flexibility for two (2) storey development to be provided in the Mixed Residential typology
- Remove section 3.2.2 – Parking and 3.2.5 – End of Trip Facilities
- Parking and End of Trip Facilities are guided by the relevant State Planning Codes – Volume 1 or 2
- Correct various administrative errors.
What will happen next
To help guide the City consider the proposed changes, the community is invited to share their feedback. Once the consultation period ends, the City will review all feedback and then make a recommendation to the Council; who will then determine the final outcome.
