Goodchild Park is currently home to Phoenix Lacrosse Club in the winter and is used as an overflow ground by Cockburn Cricket Club in the summer. It is classified as a neighborhood level active sporting reserve.

As an active sporting reserve, the City proposed a budget of $1m is to be considered across the 2019-20 and 2020-21 financial years to undertake priority upgrades to the rectangular sports fields, floodlighting and clubrooms building to ensure the local sporting community has the space and facilities needed to continue operating at the reserve now and in the future.

The proposed upgrades are intended to improve the facilities at the reserve to meet the basic operational requirements for community sport and recreation, and provide increased opportunities for the community to participate in both active and passive forms of recreation.

In early 2020, we sought your feedback on the concept design for the proposed upgrades.
