In August 2017, the City reached out to the community to gather feedback regarding the draft Manning Park Master Plan. This plan was endorsed in 2018 and outlines the long-term vision for the park, along with the specific actions the City intends to undertake to realise this vision.

In 2024, the City undertook significant community engagement to involve the local community in the planning and design process for a new playground at Manning Park. By speaking with those who value Manning Park the most, the aim was to ensure the new playground meets the needs and preferences of our community, particularly children and their guardians, while also reflecting the character and values of the community around Manning Park.
