Project Update: September 2019

The City of Cockburn has been engaged in a community-led proposal to rename a section of Munster to Lake Coogee. Following consultation with the Munster community, the name was endorsed by Elected Members at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 8 August 2019 (OCM Minutes 8/8/19).

The changes will come into effect on 30 March 2020.

What are the changes?

  • The part of Munster west of Stock Road/Rockingham Road, east of the Lake Coogee lake, and north of Frobisher Avenue will be renamed Lake Coogee, and
  • The part of Munster west of Stock Road/Rockingham Road, west of the Lake Coogee lake, and south of Frobisher Avenue will become part of Henderson

The part of Munster east of Stock Road/Rockingham Road will remain as Munster.
