Consultation has concluded

Background

In January 2017, the State Government announced the City of Cockburn was successful with its application to convert the existing overhead electricity system in parts of South Lake to a new underground system.

As part of the design process, Western Power is currently determining the locations of ground mounted transformer and switchgear units essential for the management of power distribution in the new system. This equipment will be located where possible in parks, public open space, road reserves or inside verges where the system design allows.

View the  proposed locations and examples of the equipment in the Document Library.
