Background
In May 2019 we asked for your feedback to help shape the development of our Banjup Traffic Study. We asked for your views on traffic in Banjup, including your thoughts on the speed and density of traffic there now and in the future.
You shared your input by completing our online survey, visiting us at our Community Workshop and writing to us directly.
Independent traffic consultants, Cardno, were engaged to undertake the study. In addition to community input, the study involved other components such as a review of the traffic patterns in the area bounded by Tapper Road, Armadale Road and the City of Cockburn boundaries.
The scope of the traffic study included:
- Review current and forecast traffic volumes and speeds along Liddelow Road, Gibbs Road, and Beenyup Roads
- Workshop with residents in the Banjup locality to discuss issues and potential solutions in May 2019
- Document concerns and potential solutions
- Identify and evaluate methods of managing traffic on the local road network (Liddelow, Gibbs, Beenyup, and nearby roads)
- Develop package of traffic management options
- Meet with residents a second time to gain views on their preferred measures
- Submit report to City for consideration by the Council for implementation subject to necessary approvals and funding.
Thanks to your input, the Banjup Traffic Study is now complete. View and download the study here.
This study will help to guide future decision making about traffic management in this area.
