Project update: June 2026

23 June 2026

The new Beale Park Sport and Community Centre and sports floodlighting are now complete and ready for use, marking a major milestone in the redevelopment.

The completed building includes six accessible unisex changerooms, public toilets and flexible indoor spaces that can support a range of uses beyond organised sport.

The 17 new floodlighting towers will significantly expand opportunities for evening training, competition and broader community use of the reserve.

Cockburn City Soccer Club, the site’s primary winter season user, will begin using the new facilities this month.

The City is also exploring opportunities to broaden use of the facility through an upcoming Expression of Interest (EOI) process.

What’s next

Work is continuing on the next stage of the redevelopment, which will include:

  • Landscaping across the reserve
  • New and upgraded car parking
  • Additional community amenities such as a playground, barbecue area and multisport court with basketball and netball rings
  • The full redevelopment is expected to be completed in early 2027.
