Beeliar Reserve is a dynamic community hub that brings our community together in many different ways. The Community Centre serves as a gathering spot for local events and community groups, promoting and fostering the social connections amongst our residents and users. In the winter months, the reserve comes alive with the Beeliar Spirit Association Football Club, while in the summer, cricket is at the forefront with the Phoenix Beeliar Junior Cricket Club. But whether you're kicking goals on the field, joining in on community get-togethers or cheering on from the sidelines, Beeliar Reserve is a place where connections grow and memories are made!

Beeliar Reserve and Community Centre has been identified in the City’s Community Infrastructure Plan 2024 – 2041 for redevelopment and as the Beeliar community continues to grow, we want Beeliar Reserve to grow with it, ensuring that it remains a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space that meets the needs of its users, guided by the feedback from the people who value it the most.

We have connected with local clubs, residents, and regular users of the reserve and community centre to dive deep into how this space is used and discover ways to enhance it based on what matters most to our community. Now, we want to hear from you once more. Let us know if our draft concept plan captures your vision and what you love about the reserve.

Phase Two: June - July 2025

Background

At the beginning of 2023, the City reached out to local residents, sporting groups and other key stakeholders to gather feedback on how we improve Beeliar Reserve and to understand their vision for the space. Now, we are ready to present a draft concept plan based on what we heard from you and invite your feedback to see if we got it right.

The planned upgrades for Beeliar Reserve are designed to significantly enhance both the functionality of the sporting space and the community centre.

You can expect a more welcoming community space with brand-new changerooms, a modernised community centre layout, upgraded floodlights, additional new cricket nets, more shady spots, extra water fountains, and a bigger veranda perfect for watching the action!

The City is now inviting you to have your say on the draft concept plan, which will help shape the future of this space and ensure it stays welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyed by all.

Phase One: January - February 2023

Background

As the population in the City of Cockburn grows, there is a need to improve existing parks and facilities due to increased demand and changing community needs.

So the reserve and community centre continue to serve our growing community, we are working with a recreation consultant to deliver a needs assessment, feasibility study, and concept design to inform future upgrades to these facilities. The City will consider community feedback alongside potential budget and logistical constraints as we develop these plans.

About the site

Beeliar Reserve is an active sports location used by local clubs such as Beeliar Spirit Association Football Club and Phoenix Beeliar Junior Cricket Club. During the Community, Sport, and Recreation Facilities Plan 2018-2033 process, the Phoenix Cricket Club expressed a desire to move from their current location at Tempest Park in Coolbellup and make Beeliar Reserve their main home ground in the future.

The Beeliar Community Centre is in the north-west corner of the reserve. This facility includes a main hall with a kitchen, storeroom, changing rooms with toilets, and a meeting room with a small kitchen and outdoor play area. The facility is open for community hire and can host gatherings of 50 to 150 guests. It sees consistent use by various groups engaged in diverse activities for the community.
