Consultation has concluded

We Asked:

We've been working with the community to create a concept plan for a recreation precinct on the eastern side of Bibra Lake. The plan includes a skate park, fenced dog parks for small and large dogs, parking, playground, half basketball court, toilets and landscaping.

Late in 2016, we sought your ideas about where to locate these facilities, and what features to include. We spoke to people at the residents meeting, the playground opening, skate clinic and at the existing skate park. Our consultants Ecoscape produced a concept plan and we again asked for your feedback. A meeting was also held with the Bibra Lake Residents Association in the Council chambers.

You Said:

Thank you to residents who completed the survey. Your feedback is appreciated. We have collated all the feedback and uploaded a summary.

The proposed recreation precinct will be built in several stages, subject to funding and approval by Council.

We Did:

On Thursday 13 April 2017, Council at its Ordinary Meeting considered the feedback and decided to:

  • Proceed with the development of the skate park and recreation precinct but not the dog park.
  • Conduct further consultation about the dog park location before any decision is made to proceed with a dog park.
  • Approve a budget allocation of $2.075 million for design and construction of the precinct in 2017/18.

Note that further consultation has been completed on the dog park location.
