Project update: April 2025

4 April 2025

After endorsement by Council in September 2024, the City is progressing the road safety treatments in Bibra Lake, as part of the Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) Low Cost Urban Road Safety Program.

The City has completed detailed design work and planning for the schedule of works, which will be implemented in multiple stages, to reduce inconvenience, and avoid conducting works near school zones during school term.

The first phase is scheduled for the end of April 2025, with the construction of raised safety platforms at the intersections of:

  • Parkway Road and Homestead Avenue
  • Colonial Drive and Needwell Road.

Towards mid-June, construction will commence at the intersections of:

  • Parkway Road and Marlene Way
  • Parkway Road and Dowell Place
  • Hope Road and Gilchrist Avenue.

Road safety treatments along Hope Road east, including a raised safety platform, midblock plateau and raised children’s crossing, is scheduled to be installed in July 2025.

The treatments along Bibra Drive and Parkway Road and Annois Road at Bibra Lake Primary School are earmarked for installation in September/October 2025.

Road safety treatments to the west of Bibra Lake are currently being refined and will be scheduled for later in the year.

Residents living near to roadworks will receive notification of works via letter, ahead of commencement.
