Cockburn to Fremantle Bus Service

Consultation has concluded

Background

The City conducted a survey in September 2018 to determine whether there is a genuine need for a service along Cockburn Road in summer months (October to March) as an hourly service from 9am to 6pm. The bus could stop near the following attractions between Fremantle and Woodman Point and between Woodman Point and Fremantle:

  • Beach
  • Surf Club
  • Caravan Parks
  • Shark barrier swimming area
  • Fremantle bus depot
  • Shops
  • Restaurants

The survey found support for a Sunday bus service on Cockburn Road between Woodman Point and Fremantle. See the survey results here.

    When the survey concluded, the City lobbied the Public Transport Authority (PTA) to provide a service, however the PTA decided not to proceed. See the response from the PTA here.
