Coogee Live - Proposed Event

Background

Should the City of Cockburn host a new annual event along our coastline for three days to showcase our strengths and talents?

We could call it Coogee Live and make it a free vibrant community event to promote the diverse and family friendly lifestyle in Cockburn. This could inspire and delight locals and visitors, making it a regional destination event where people attend year after year and look forward to it. The event, suitable for all ages and lifestyles, could promote the City of Cockburn as a fun and thriving place to live and work.

Coogee Live could be an entertainment trail from Port Coogee to Coogee Beach, from the marina and dive trail to the surf life saving club. Along the way we could have free large and small scale events that appeal to all - hawkers markets, artists-in-residence, light shows, projections, water activities and much more.

The event would be funded from existing Council funds and possible external grants.

Have Your Say

We're seeking your comments about whether the City should host such an event and how community groups, artists, dancers and others could get involved. What stories should we tell about our heritage?
