Consultation has concluded

Background

In December 2018, the City of Cockburn invited community feedback on a proposal to install traffic calming measures on Coolbellup Avenue. A copy of the draft design can be viewed here.

What You Said

Over 140 people viewed the project details and proposed road design online. A total of 53 submissions were received over the comment period. Overall, 81 per cent of the respondents confirmed they support the proposal.

What Will Happen Next

In response to the feedback received, slight modifications were made to the final design, including:

  • Exclusion of the proposed median strip trees
  • Inclusion of asphalted pads at slow points to improve safety for cyclists (by separating vehicles and cyclists).

A diagram of the final road design can be viewed here.

The traffic calming measures in the revised design for Coolbellup Avenue (between Winterfold Road and Waverly Road) will be installed between mid March to early April 2020. Works will be carried out between 7am to 7pm on weekdays.
