Background
The City of Cockburn has received a Planning Application for Change of Use from Retail and Restaurant to Tavern at Units 3 and 4 /72 Pantheon Avenue in North Coogee. The application proposes to operate a Tavern at Unit 3 (currently approved as ‘Retail’) and Unit 4 (currently approved and operating as ‘Restaurant’) of 72 Pantheon Avenue, North Coogee. The application details are as follows:
- The subject site was purpose built as ‘Retail’ and ‘Restaurant’ as part of the original planning approval for Nursing Home Facility with six (6) Ground Floor Commercial Tenancies;
- The site is located in the Local Centre (Marina Village Precinct) under the Port Coogee structure plan;
- The subject site proposes a total car parking shortfall of 28 car parking bays;
- The hours of operation are as follows:
- Mondays to Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (midnight)
- Sundays: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (midnight)
- Mondays to Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (midnight)
- The site proposes to contain a maximum of 220 persons;
- The applicant will be required to submit a Noise Management Plan to comply with the acoustic report for the entire site; and
- There is adequate bin store space to accommodate the proposed Tavern.
