The City of Cockburn has received a Planning Application for the existing storage yard, fencing, stockpiling of fill and two aea containers at 9001L Coogee Road, Lake Coogee. This application is now put forward for public comment.

About this application

The proposal is to retrospectively consider the existing use of the property. Before the estate was subdivided, the immediate area was used for a market garden purpose. Once the land was developed for residential purposes, the equipment and goods from the rural land was stored at the subject site and has continued to be used to store these goods.

All development within the buffer zone of the Woodman Point Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) requires the approval of the local government, following mandatory advertising to affected landowners.

The application is detailed to include:

  • The current use of the property for a 'Storage Yard' purpose (with no further changes proposed other than what is currently on-site);
  • The keeping of two sea containers for rural equipment and goods;
  • The rural fences located abutting Splash Terrace and Korcula Court; and
  • The existing fill brought onto the property abutting Splash Terrace.

Further details of the proposal and the associated plans can be viewed in the Document Library.
