Background

A Child Care Premises was previously proposed on the same site and submitted to the City of Cockburn for determination, in which Council at its Ordinary Council Meeting of 11 June 2020 refused the application.

This new application is submitted to the Outer Metro Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) for determination. It requires a new submission period for the JDAP meeting which is expected to occur in early 2021.

The proposal has the following characteristics:

  • Located on land zoned ‘Local Centre’;
  • A two storey building with a walkway from one building to the other;
  • A total internal play area of 230m2 and outdoor play area of 493m2, in addition to the kitchen, staff room, foyer, toilets and bin store;
  • A maximum 67 children are proposed and a maximum of 11 staff are proposed which requires 18 car parking bays;
  • No car parking is provided on site, rather the proposal seeks to utilise existing on-street bays;
  • Landscaping.

The application is accompanied by a Traffic Impact Statement, Environmental Acoustic Report and a Bushfire Management Plan with an Emergency Evacuation Plan. View these documents in the Document Library.
