Background

The City of Cockburn has received a planning application for 701L Armadale Road, Jandakot. The proposed development adjoins an existing large format retail development which was developed in the late 2000's and is commercially known as Cockburn East. The site is located on Armadale Road and abuts several existing residential dwellings within the Calleya Estate.

About this application

The proposal has the following characteristics:

  • An overall gross floor area (GFA) or 36,346m2
  • 26 tenancies ranging from 150m2 to 8,800m2 GFA
  • Numerous land uses, including showrooms, a gym and a cafe/lunch bar
  • Vehicles access via Armadale Road and Verde Drive
  • Integration with the adjoining 'Cockburn East' development through internal road connections
  • 705 on-site parking bays
  • Associated signage and landscaping.

About the assessment process

The City is not the determining body for this application.

At the end of the advertising period, the City will collate community comments and prepare a Schedule of Submissions. The City will assess the application, considering the submissions and planning framework before making a recommendation to the Metro-Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel (MOJDAP). The MOJDAP will decide the outcome of this planning application.

A Development Assessment Panel (DAP) is an independent decision-making body comprised of technical experts and elected local government members. These panels determine development applications made under local and regional planning schemes in the place of the original decision maker.
