Your Davilak Park

Tucked away in the leafy suburb of Hamilton Hill, Davilak Park is one of Cockburn’s oldest and most cherished sporting and community spaces. With deep roots in local history and a proud sporting legacy, it’s a place where generations have come together to play, cheer, connect, and unwind.

These days, Davilak Park is still buzzing with energy — home to footy, cricket, playground adventures, outdoor workouts, and community catch-ups. It’s where you’ll find the Cockburn Cricket Club, Junior Footy and Cricket Clubs, and the Cockburn Cobras, all calling the park home.

As Hamilton Hill continues to grow and change, so too must this beloved space. That’s why the City of Cockburn is planning a fresh new future for Davilak Park — guided by the voices of the people who use it, love it, and live nearby. The reserve has been earmarked for redevelopment in both the City’s Western Suburbs Sporting Precinct Study (WSSPS) 2018, and the Community Infrastructure Plan (CIP) 2024-2041.

We’ve been out chatting to local clubs, residents, and regular park-goers to hear how Davilak is used today and what could make it even better tomorrow. This park has big potential — and we’re here to shape it with you.

This is your page to have your say on this project and view the various stages of development.

Phase Two: June-July 2025

Background

The City of Cockburn is committed to providing a vibrant and flourishing community and sporting reserve for Hamilton Hill, that can best serve our growing community.

We sought community visioning of the sports, community, and recreational spaces of Davilak Park in August 2024, asking our community how they currently used the reserve, and what the space was missing.

We have listened to community feedback on enhancing Davilak Park and have developed draft concept plans that can provide an inclusive environment for all users.

The planned upgrades for Davilak Park include, an additional sporting oval, improvements to the sporting clubrooms, an added community hireable space, relocated and updated playground, nature play areas, seating, and features to make the park more enjoyable for everyone.

Now it is time to have your say. Your feedback on the draft concept plans is vital as we work to enhance this important community and sporting space to best suit the community's needs into the future.

Check out the draft concept plans in the Document Library and visit the Frequently Asked Questions to get the full rundown on everything that’s proposed for Davilak Park.

Phase One: July-August 2024

Background

The City of Cockburn plans to upgrade and enhance Davilak Park (Lucius Road, Hamilton Hill) to better serve its growing community. We want to hear your thoughts to help us prepare an updated design for the park.

In 2018, the City circulated the Western Suburbs Sporting Precinct Study (WSSPS), which included community feedback and a site masterplan for Davilak Park upgrades.

However, since 2018, community views and needs for the park may have evolved. Therefore, there is an opportunity to reassess and explore new possibilities for Davilak Park. This may include additional sporting space, improvements to the sporting infrastructure, clubrooms and playground or other recreational elements. The City has engaged a community infrastructure consultant to guide the development of a new plan and we want to hear your thoughts on how this sporting and community space can best serve its community.

About Davilak Park

Davilak Park is a district-level sporting space that serves as a cricket oval in the summer and an AFL oval in the winter. The park is equipped with benches, playgrounds, exercise equipment, cricket nets, and a club room. Currently, the park is home to the Cockburn Cricket Club, the Cockburn Junior Football Club, the Cockburn Cobras Amateur Football Club, and the Cockburn Junior Cricket Club.

As one of the oldest sporting reserves in Cockburn, we know that Davilak Park may have significant importance to many in the community. As such, as part of this community engagement, we're keen to hear about your stories of Davilak Park, the memories made there, and any important community history or legacy.
