Project Update: July 2018

At its meeting on Thursday 12 July 2018, Council decided not to proceed with fenced dog parks at Bibra Lake or Milgun Reserve, Yangebup. See Item 17.2 on the agenda here.

The debate considered whether a dog park can be accommodated on Milgun Reserve. The constraints for this reserve include that part is prone to flooding, there is underground Water Corporation infrastructure under most of the reserve, and nearby residents do not welcome a dog park at the remaining location near Beeliar Drive.

The debate also considered whether a dog park should be built on Bibra Lake Reserve near the lake. A consultant's study into whether a dog park could be accommodated on the eastern side of the park found that environmental considerations should have priority and no dog park should be built. A briefing has been held with Bibra Lake Residents Association about the outcomes of the study.
