Consultation has concluded
Background
Council, at its meeting held on 12 March 2020 resolved to advertise the proposed inclusion of the former Hamilton Hill Post Office at 5 Dodd Street, Hamilton Hill (corner of Dodd and Straughair Street) on the City of Cockburn Local Government Inventory (Heritage inventory) as a ‘Management Category C’ Place.
The City is seeking community feedback on the proposal and invites you to share your knowledge or historical information on the former Hamilton Hill Post Office.
The City has undertaken a heritage assessment of the building and it is considered that this building has some heritage significance because it contributes to the heritage of the area through its aesthetic, historic and potentially social values. However, in terms of the level of significance, it is not considered to have what are formally defined as "exceptional" or "significance" values. Further information regarding these values can be found in the Heritage Assessment document and Draft Place Record under the Document Library.
