Thank you for helping to shape the new sporting reserve and multipurpose community building for Hammond Park

Our growing sporting clubs and Hammond Park community are in need of more active sporting reserves. The City has received a State Government grant and Development Contributions to help make this happen.

The new sporting reserve will be located in the south-eastern corner of Frankland Park (Wattleup Road / Frankland Avenue, Hammond Park). The City has developed a draft layout for the site in conjunction with members of the Hammond Park Residents Association and future sporting club users. The design aims to minimise impact on the surrounding bushland whilst providing the level of amenity required by the community.

What You Said

In May 2020 we asked for your feedback on the draft designs and layouts to help guide our next steps and detailed design process. Over 1000 people visited the project page and the draft design documentation was downloaded 497 times.

Over 120 people participated through surveys, submissions and our interactive Q&A board. 80% of respondents said they were happy or very happy with the proposal, 10% were neutral and seven per cent were unhappy or very unhappy (three per cent did not answer). View the feedback infographic here.

What Will Happen Next

Comments and feedback will help to guide the detailed design for the site. View the feedback considerations and next steps in our detailed Engagement Summary here.

Funding for this project has been endorsed in the 2020-21 annual budget. Should the project proceed to existing timelines as planned, the expected completion date is mid-late 2021.
