Consultation has concluded

Background

We're building new hockey facilities and seek your feedback to lease and licence part of the land to the Fremantle Hockey Club.

We’ve been working with the State Government, Hockey WA and the Fremantle Hockey Club to develop a synthetic turf hockey pitch, two grass fields, and a multi-purpose facility in South Lake.

The $6.53 million dollar project will be funded by the State Government ($1.25 million), Fremantle Hockey Club ($500,000) and the City ($4.78 million). In May 2017, an agreement was reached between the three parties to proceed with the project.

The multi-purpose facility will be built on Lakelands Reserve (Lot 3028, South Lake Drive, South Lake) which is owned by the State Government and managed by the City. The intention is to lease it to the Fremantle Hockey Club, with some areas being made available for community hire through the City.

To allow this, a 2000m2 portion of land must be excised (under the Land Administration Act 1997 and Planning and Development Act 2005).

Submissions

The City is seeking community feedback on excising the portion of land on Lot 3028, South Lake Drive, South Lake for the purposes of leasing and licensing a multi-purpose facility for a period of no longer than 21 years to the Fremantle Hockey Club.

Submissions close 23 March 2018.
