Consultation has concluded
Between December 2020 and March 2021, Western Power and the City of Cockburn are trialing LED street lighting in selected sections of Spearwood and Atwell. LEDs are more energy efficient, lower maintenance and longer lasting.
As part of this trial, current street light poles are being retrofitted with new LED lights. The existing street light poles are designed for the old lights, so this trial will test whether the infrastructure is suitable for the new LEDs.
Spearwood and Atwell were selected as they best reflect the power infrastructure in place across Cockburn. Click here to view the list of trial locations.
This trial is funded by the Australian Government (through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program) and the City of Cockburn. The trial will provide Western Power and the City of Cockburn with insight for the potential replacement of street lights in Cockburn. For more information visit the FAQ.
Feedback
Residents in the trial area are invited to share any feedback they have regarding the new lighting in their street. Community insight is valuable to the process and planning for any future design considerations.
Once you have had some time to adjust to the new lighting, please let us know what you think by completing the form below.
