Background

The City of Cockburn is seeking your feedback on our proposed Waste Amendment Local Law 2026, which will amend the City’s current Waste Local Law 2020. It does this by inserting two new clauses, one regulating waste control on building sites, the other requiring that the owner/occupiers of certain premises or land will need to provide an enclosure for their bins. These rules aim to protect the health and amenity of the community.

It will also expand the general duties of an owner/occupier so that they must ensure all waste is placed in bins, that they keep their bins in clean and good repair, and that they ensure bins are emptied regularly.

We want to hear your thoughts on the proposed changes introduced by the waste amendment local law, so that it reflects the values and needs of our community.
