The City of Cockburn is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to Local Planning Policy 1.12 - Noise Attenuation Policy and Noise Attenuation Guidelines.

Policy amendments are proposed to improve clarity on noise attenuation requirements. 

The intent of the policy and guidelines will remain the same, however information will be made more concise and easier to navigate. The proposed amendments include:

  • Noise attenuation requirements in tabular form 
  • Consolidation of guidelines.

    Thank you for your interest in this Local Planning Policy (LPP) amendment. The proposed amendments were advertised for public comment between 21 October and 11 November 2021. The City received zero (0) submissions on this matter. Following additional consultation with City officers, minor amendments were made to the proposed Policy. The intent of the policy remains unchanged.

    The proposed amendments was then presented to the Delegated Authorities Policies & Position Statements (DAPPs) panel on 17 February 2022. The Panel resolved to accept the amendments made to LPP 1.12 and was then approved by Council at its Ordinary Council Meeting on 10 March 2022.

    The amendments are now part of the adopted planning policy and are in effect. The policy can be viewed on the City’s website
