The City of Cockburn has received a request to amend a Structure Plan affecting several lots on Wattleup Road. Submissions on this proposal are invited from the community. 

About the proposed amendment

The proposal involves a number of changes to the Structure Plan for the area, including:

  • expanding the Structure Plan area to include Lot 76 Wattleup Road, Hammond Park
  • introducing residential cells with a density code of R30/40, local road reserves and portion of primary school reserve within the Structure Plan area.

    This proposal was advertised for public comment period between 2 September and 15 October 2021. The City received 10 submissions on this proposal.

    Submissions were compiled in a report, alongside relevant planning considerations, and presented in a report to Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM) on 11 November 2021. At this OCM, Council resolved to recommended approval to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) subject to modifications. Minutes of this meeting can be found on the City’s website here.


    Further Update - October 2022

    The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) approved the Structure Plan Amendment on 28 September 2022.
