Thank you for your feedback. Comments are closed. View the needs feed below for more information on the progress of this engagement.

Background

Thanks to a Port Coogee Community Association (PCCA) initiative, $150,000 is allocated in the 2020-21 budget to upgrade the play equipment in Lucretia Park, North Coogee.

Representatives from the PCCA helped to establish a local playground group. PCCA representatives and the group contributed ideas and helped to develop a draft design for a playground.

As part of the design development, representatives worked through project challenges. Examples include the limited usable space (because of the irrigation storage tank below most of the grassed area of the site), the budget (which needs to cover all aspects of the project), integration with existing landscaping, accessibility needs and costs of ongoing maintenance. Read the FAQ for more information on design choices.

Local residents are invited to share their feedback on the draft concept design. After the feedback period, we will finalise the design with a vision to complete the playground this financial year.

    Thank you for your feedback!

In November 2020 we asked for your feedback on a draft concept design for playground improvements at Lucretia Park, North Coogee. Thank you for taking the time to have your say.

Over 300 people visited the Comment on Cockburn site to read about the project. 72 people had their say by completing our survey, attending our pop up session or writing a submission.

The majority of respondents (65%) noted they were happy or very happy with the draft design. 18% indicated that they were unhappy or very unhappy with the draft design and provided comments and suggestions for improvement. Key priorities identified in the feedback were accessibility and features for the youth demographic.

The most popular elements of the draft design were the bridge with climbing net, mini scooter path and playground fencing.

Feedback is being reviewed and key findings will help to shape the final design and potential opportunities in the future. For more information, view the Feedback Summary on the right hand side of this page.

The playground is expected to be completed in 2021. For future updates on this project, please contact the City of Cockburn on 08 9411 3444 or [email protected].
