Background

To improve safety, the City of Cockburn is installing anti-climb structures on the Othello and Maraboo Bridges at Ngarkal Beach in North Coogee. The anti-climb structures will be installed on the northern side of Maraboo Bridge, and both sides of Othello Bridge to prevent swimmers from jumping off.

Two design options have been prepared and artwork themes are being explored for some perforated panelling. These panels form part of the anti-climb structures.

  • Structural Design A - Open Structure (view in the Document Library here)
  • Structural Design B - Closed Structure (view in the Document Library here)

Community feedback will be considered in the final design process. The City must also consider other constraints such as budget and maintenance requirements.
