Why a Parking Strategy?

The City wishes to develop a citywide parking strategy to help:

  • Reduce development costs and increased affordability
  • Allow more compact community planning
  • Encourage other modes of transport and reduce car use thereby reducing congestion, accidents and pollution
  • Improve options and quality of service, especially for people who can not drive
  • Improve the design flexibility for parking
  • Maximise the use of land for angle parking and new parking stations
  • Consider paid parking in future years to help pay for new parking facilities and maintenance of existing parking areas
  • Guidelines to shape the future provision of parking over the next decade

We Asked:

We asked you to identify parking hot spots around the City of Cockburn, potential solutions, and what you might do if parking in these locations remained a challenge. We conducted an online survey and face-to-face interviews.

You Said:

You have provided valuation information which is now being collated and analysed, so that we can develop a citywide parking strategy.
