Public Open Space in Beeliar

  • What will the community need?

    Beeliar’s population is expected to grow steadily over time, with a significant increase in older residents and continued growth in young people. While most homes are close to parks and outdoor spaces, future planning will need to focus on improving park quality, accessibility and diversity, including inclusive play opportunities, stronger local connections and additional parkland in growing areas.

  • What does Beeliar have?

    Beeliar has a wide range of parks and outdoor spaces, with good access to nature areas, sporting reserves and local playgrounds across the suburb, including:

    • nearby access to Thomsons Lake and Kogolup Lake
    • a good mix of parks
    • playgrounds spread across most residential areas
    • dog exercise areas and a new fenced dog park planned
    • strong ecological and walking connections in the eastern area

    Some parts of the suburb, particularly the southwest, currently have fewer playground and recreation opportunities.
