    South Lake has a stable population with modest growth expected over time. While the suburb already has a strong network of parks and recreation spaces, future planning will focus on meeting the needs of young people, working-age residents and older adults, ensuring parks continue to provide a diverse range of recreation opportunities for all ages.

    South Lake has a well-established network of parks and outdoor spaces, including:

    • local parks, neighbourhood parks and sporting reserves
    • a well-connected powerline corridor with walking and cycling links
    • dog exercise areas, including a fenced dog park
    • playgrounds distributed throughout the suburb
    • lakes, natural areas and recreation spaces
    • parks supporting recreation, sport and everyday community use

    Most homes are within walking distance of a park or outdoor space.
