Consultation has concluded

Background

The City of Cockburn invites your submissions for a Use Not Listed (Liquor Store) at ALDI Beeliar at 281 Beeliar Drive, Yangebup.

The proposal consists of the following characteristics:

  • A display area of 21m2
  • Packaged liquor at room temperature to be consumed off site
  • No external advertising in regards to this use (Liquor)
  • Complimentary to the existing approved use (Shop).

The proposed licensed area comprises the display/browse area and the checkout closest to it.

However, if the licensing authority determines that the application is to be granted subject to a condition requiring customers to complete the purchase of their liquor items prior to leaving the licensed area, then the applicant seeks approval for a larger area to be licensed, outside of the liquor display/browse area, only for the purpose of allowing customers room to manoeuvre and queue.

In such a situation, the total licensed area would be approximately 80m2. However, liquor is only intended to be displayed in the designated 21m2 area and only be sold from the one checkout.

Note: This application is for the use of the floor area as a means other than ‘shop’ under the City’s Town Planning Scheme No.3. This application does not guarantee or imply that the Department of Racing, Gaming & Liquor will issue a Liquor Licence under the Liquor Control Act 1988.

Submissions

Submissions can be lodged online below through the Online Submission Form, by no later than 30 January 2018.

Please note: The planning application is being advertised to seek public comment on the proposal. The advertising of the planning application does not indicate any formal support of the proposal by the City of Cockburn or the Western Australian Planning Commission.

Please be aware that should you make a submission, Council may require a Schedule of Submissions to be prepared which includes a submitter’s name and address. This forms part of a Council Agenda report, which is available for public viewing (published in hard copy and on the City’s website). Please clearly state in your submission if you want your details to be kept confidential.
