Background
The City is seeking comment on amendments proposed to Local Planning Policy 5.6 Vehicle Access (the policy).
The objective of the policy is to provide a framework for the planning and development of safe and efficient movement of motorists, public transport users, pedestrians and cyclists, where a coordinated approach to vehicle access is required.
The policy amendments were previously advertised in September/October 2018, however the City has held off on progressing these amendments until the Armadale Road and North Lake Road Bridge (ARNLRB) project plans have been finalised (they since have, and the first stages of construction have begun).
The ARNLRB project was a major determinant in the final Prinsep Road and Verde Drive vehicle access planning, and the policy has been amended to address the intersection and road upgrade requirements resulting from the ARNLRB project.
