Background

The City seeks feedback on a proposed Structure Plan for Lot 703 Ghostgum Avenue, Treeby.

The proposed Structure Plan includes a range of residential codings ranging from R25 to R80, and a network of public open space (POS), including retained natural bushland, and a ‘Local Centre’ site. It is estimated that this would accommodate approximately 379 dwellings.

The subject land is owned by the Department of Communities, and the land is proposed to be developed as a joint venture with LWP Group. A maximum of one in nine lots in Treeby will be social housing lots including shared home ownership and affordable housing. Comparative estates in the surrounding locality are Harrisdale Green and Meve at Beeliar.     At its meeting on 9 April 2020 (OCM Minutes 9/4/2020) Council resolved to recommend approval to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC).

    WAPC approved the structure plan on 14 September 2020. The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage website lists the approved structure plan.
