Background

The City of Cockburn invites your submissions about Development Applications to build a water catchment dam (DA17/0462) and staff office and amenities building (DA17/0474) at Richgro's existing site at 203 Acourt Road, Jandakot.

To increase water containment on-site, the company proposes to build Dam 5:

  • 68.5 metres wide and 69 metres long, on a northern part of the site.
  • Made from high density polyethyene liners, with a geomembrane lining to retain water within the constructed bunded wall.
  • Dam wall to be 1 metre to 2.4 metres above surrounding ground level, with a 2 metre wide bank.

To cater for staff, the company proposes to provide an office and amenities building:

  • To cover an area of 110m2, centrally located within the site.
  • Building to contain office, kitchen, toilets (2 male WC, 1 female WC, 1 unisex shower).

Plans and documents explaining the Development Applications are available to view online here or at the City of Cockburn administration building, 9 Coleville Crescent, Spearwood during office hours (Monday to Fridays, 8.30am – 4.30pm) up to and including 4 August 2017.

Submissions

Submissions can be lodged online below, by email to [email protected] or in writing to the CEO by no later than 4 August 2017.

Submissions should include the Development Applications name, the property affected and details of the submission. They can be addressed to: Chief Executive Officer, City of Cockburn, PO Box 1215, Bibra Lake WA 6965.

Please note: the DAs are being advertised to seek public comment on the proposal. The advertising of the structure plan does not indicate any formal support of the proposal by the City of Cockburn or the Western Australian Planning Commission.

Please be aware that should you make a submission, Council requires a Schedule of Submissions to be prepared which includes a submitter’s name and address. This forms part of a Council Agenda report, which is available for public viewing (published in hard copy and on the City’s website). Please clearly state in your submission if you want your details to be kept confidential.
