Proposed names for two Spearwood parks

Consultation has concluded

Closed 19 December 2017

The City sought your comment about proposed new names for reserves at 11 Karbuni Parade and 22 Cottage Parade, Spearwood.

At its November meeting, Council resolved to seek input on the proposed names:

  • “Kitj Park” for 11 Karbuni Parade
  • “Kooboolong Park” for 22 Cottage Parade

The City wrote to landowners within 200 metres of each park to seek their feedback.

The meaning of “Kitj” (pronounced “kitch”) is a spear, a traditional hunting instrument used by Nyungar people.

The meaning of “Kooboolong” (pronounced “koo-boo-long”) is a frog to reflect the nearby lake.

Thank you for your input.
