Background

The City of Cockburn is in receipt of a proposed structure plan in respect to land located at Lot 2 (No. 7) Fawcett Road, Lake Coogee.

Structure plans are a broad planning framework which guide the layout of future subdivision and development.

The proposed Structure Plan indicates:

  • Residential zoned land; with a mix of ‘Residential R30’, ‘Residential R40’ and ‘Residential R40/60’;
  • A linear Public Open Space (POS) area of 1,032m2;
  • Road reserves, accessed from Kirk Close with temporary cul-de-sacs proposed, until the lot to the north, Lot 1 (No.5) Fawcett Road, is developed.

    Thank you for your submissions. The public comment period was open from 18 June 2020 to 16 July 2020.

    At its meeting on 12 November 2020 (OCM Minutes 12/11/20) Council resolved to recommend approval to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) subject to modifications.

    The WAPC approved the Structure Plan 22 June 2021. A copy of the Report can be found on the DPLH website
