1. Why will Bibra Drive be completely closed? Cant they do the work under traffic and keep one lane open?
The City asked the Metropolitan Roads Improvement Alliance this question and was informed that keeping one lane open would add to the cost and delays to the roundabout construction, meaning more impact on road users during the busy school term. The timing of the project has been chosen from 4 January to minimise the impact on commuters during school holidays.
2. Will Progress Drive be closed during these roadworks?
Yes. After consultation with North Lake residents, Progress Drive will be closed temporarily at the Hope Road roundabout. In case of fire, the roundabout will be reopened.
