Background
In mid-2017, the City received $80,000 in State funds to develop a fenced dog park in the Aubin Grove locality. Since then, the Hammond Park Residents Association has written to the City asking for the dog park to proceed at Baler Court and preliminary consultation has been conducted by mail with Baler Court residents.
The site deemed to be most suitable for consideration was Lot 30 Baler Court, Hammond Park, as it is within the State electorate of Kwinana.
The site is owned by the City of Cockburn and located next to power transformers. The site provides a large amount of space to ensure a suitable buffer to nearby residents. See the map and site photos.
Key elements include:
Weed removal, site levelling;
A fenced area for large dogs (1,570m2) and a separate fenced area for small dogs (1,160m2);
Attend a drop-in session to talk with City officers any time between 6pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 27 February at Success Regional Sports Facility, 359 Hammond Road
