Background

The City of Cockburn is advertising proposed Scheme Amendment No.188 to Town Planning Scheme No. 3 (TPS3) and invites submissions from the community.

About the Amendment

Amendment No. 188 to Town Planning Scheme No. 3 (TPS 3) proposes to close out and delete DCA12 from TPS3.

The City has completed the necessary steps to close out the Development Contribution Plan for DCA12. Deleting DCA12 from TPS3 removes a redundant layer of planning control and will help to simplify the local planning framework. This also aligns with Governance Action 1.5 of the City’s Local Planning Strategy.

What will happen next?

At the end of the comment period, the City reviews the feedback, alongside planning guidelines and policies, and submits a recommendation to Council. The Western Australian Planning Commission then reviews the proposal and Council's advice and makes the final decision on behalf of the Minister for Planning.
