Project outcomes

The City has listened to recent feedback about pedestrian amenities on Sain Road and assessed whether a footpath connection can be built between Coogee Plaza and King Street.

While preliminary assessments indicated a footpath would be possible, further detailed ground surveys found the site conditions are more complex than anticipated.

Given the site constraints, and in particular the road gradient, it is unfeasible to deliver a footpath that meets the required Australian standards. The City regrets to advise that a footpath cannot proceed at this location.

The existing safe network access to Coogee Plaza, along King Street and Hamilton Road, has been repaired to improve amenity for pedestrians and people who use a wheelchair.
