Background

The City of Cockburn has advertised adding Scheme Amendment No. 146 to the Town Planning Scheme No. 3, which will undertake the following:

  1. Rezoning a portion of Lot 705 (No. 255) and Lot 707 Armadale Road, Treeby ‘Development’ and designating the site a ‘Development Area’ (special control area).

  2. Including provisions within ‘Table 9: Development Areas’ relating to the subject area to orderly guide future planning stages.

  3. Amending the scheme map accordingly.

The scheme amendment will bring into conformity a recent change to the State-level Metropolitan Region Scheme, which designated the subject land 'Urban'. This process is therefore largely administrative.

The amendment will facilitate the ability for the landowner to lodge a future structure plan proposal for the subject land. The structure plan will designate road design, residential development and public open space. The structure plan has not been lodged with the City as yet, but will be advertised in future to allow the public to view more detailed planning for the site.
