The City is advertising a "Standard" amendment to our Town Planning Scheme. This change is needed to support updated Land Use permissions and definitions
About the proposed change
At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 10 February 2022, Council resolved to initiate Amendment No.153 to the City’s Town Planning Scheme No.3 for the purpose of advertising as a ‘standard’ amendment.
The proposed Scheme Amendment seeks to introduce ‘Additional Uses’ provisions over Lot 760 (No.49) Berrigan Drive, South Lake to support land use permissibility for ‘Showroom’, ‘Motor Vehicle Wash’ and ‘Funeral Parlour’ land uses. The site is zoned ‘Local Centre’ under Town Planning Scheme No.3, which does not currently provide the City with ability to consider development proposals for these land uses.
The proposed amendment also includes an amendment to the ‘Funeral Parlour’ land use definition is proposed to align with Model Scheme definitions under the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.
An amendment to Town Planning Scheme No.3 which is considered either a ‘standard’ or ‘complex’ amendment must be advertised to the public, who can make comment on the proposal in the form of a submission.
