A decision was made at the October 2018 Council meeting to proceed with the upgrade of community and sporting facilities in line with the Western Suburbs Sporting Precinct study. The plan includes $66m in sport and recreation facility development projects within the western suburbs and will effectively be the City's guiding document for future upgrades and new developments in this area. Read the final report here and the Council Report here (starting on page 466).

The plan identified opportunities for the development of new active open space, together with potential for significant redevelopment of existing facilities and reserves including:

  • Beale Park $9.11m
  • Wally Hagan/Dixon Park $36.17m (Option 1 preferred)
  • Dalmatinac Park and Lucius Park $3.02m
  • Davilak Reserve $7.66m
