In November 2017, the City of Cockburn sought your feedback about the proposed installation of a traffic management treatment on Swallow Drive, Yangebup, to address traffic speeds and safety.

Works are due to commence in June 2018 and will take two weeks to complete.

As shown on the attached concept plan, the City proposes to:

  • Install a median island at the Swallow Drive and Dotterel Way intersection
  • Install a pedestrian refuge island near the intersection of Swallow Drive and Cygnet Court
  • Reduce the width of Swallow Drive adjacent to the Nicholson Reserve parking area to improve safety by encouraging slower

  • Reduce the width of Swallow Drive adjacent to the Nicholson Reserve parking area to improve safety by encouraging slower vehicle speeds and providing a safety buffer for reversing motorists
  • Construct a 1.5 metre wide footpath in Cygnet Court to connect Swallow Drive to the pedestrian access way at the end of the street
  • Upgrade the pavement marking at all intersections
